Automation and SCADA system for conveyor transport system

The transport system for ore and miscellaneous materials in the smelter "Skopski Leguri" is based on conveyors combined with crushing and sieving of the materials. The technological requirements were to ensure safe transport of the ore from the main 3 bunkers to other 60 locations from which the smelting furnaces are being filled. The SCADA system which Fidko installed, allows addressing the initial and final destination for delivery of the material, provides visibility to the work of the conveyors, enables secure command and takes into account the safety and proper functioning of the system. The control and the giving of the commands is done with simple clicks of the mouse on the monitor of the personal computer, which communicates with a PLC (Programmable Logical Controller). The software is designed so to allow parallel command and monitoring of the process through a personal computer and via a touch screen monitor on the PLC. The software made specifically for this system takes into account the mutual dependencies and blocks of the conveyors, the sieving places and mills. In this way, the visibility and reliability of the transport system is maximal. The controller is supplied with over 300 incoming and 100 outgoing signals. |
